Still have questions?
What is the Kane Academy Travel Basketball Program?
The Kane Academy is San Diego’s premier youth basketball development program focused on building serious, competitive players. We use our M.E.T. philosophy (Motivate, Educate, Train) to develop the total student-athlete by training the mind, body, and spirit of each player.
What makes Kane Academy different from recreational leagues or other travel teams?
We are not a recreational program. The Kane Academy is designed for players who are serious about developing their skills and competing at higher levels. Our focus goes beyond basic fundamentals to build comprehensive basketball IQ, teaching players not just what to do, but how and why to do it. We develop both will and skill.
How often do teams practice?
Teams practice three times per week with intensive training sessions focused on skill-building, basketball IQ, and game-situation mastery.
What leagues and tournaments do Kane Academy teams participate in?
Our teams compete in local leagues and tournaments based on team readiness. Teams that demonstrate higher competitive abilities may also participate in regional and national tournaments when appropriate.
How is playing time determined?
Playing time is earned, not given. It’s determined by three factors:
- Does your child do what they’re told to do
- Does your child play hard
- Their basketball talent.
Playing time is expected but not guaranteed and is based on performance at practice.
